Here is a fun little Donkey logo I recently did for a friend. Looking at my blog posts below I realize I haven’t updated since July!!! Where the hell have I been? Recently I've been spending a lot of time working at Lucasarts in the Quality Assurance Department (testing videogames) but don't worry I've been doing art late at night and hope to post some more work in the weeks to come. Once again I'm guilty of being a deadbeat blogger.

Ah, not my first Screen Credit, but my first time working on an animated production. This was the first job I got to work on as a production assistant for Jantze Studios.

Directed by Michael Jantze (creator of The Norm comic strip) this video was created for You Tube's help page. Deadbeat Blogger

It's been been a while since I've posted anything. I feel like a deadbeat dad right now who is trying find a way to "re-connect".

This was a drawing I started a while back and it kinda got away from me for a while and recently I finally sat down and finished painting in the grey. I have plans to do a series of these, but seeing that I kept starting and stopping with this one I don't know at the moment. Time is of the essence for some other things I've been been working on, So off I go!

I know this is a little short notice but, here are some events going on this weekend in San Francisco.

The first is a gallery opening Friday night at Five Points Art house (http://www.fivepointsarthouse.com/) I have a drawing in this show as do my roommates Grant Gilliland and Andy Stattmiller. So come downtown and check it out. I know you have bridge club on Fridays but, I'm sure if you call Emma she can find a replacement before the tournament.

The second event is Team Draw in Dolores Park on Sunday from 2-? As usual all you need is a sketchbook and drawing utenicls (not eating) We will be swapping books so by the end of the day you should have a drawing by everyone there...ok, ok.

Well thats it I hope to see you there, until then I'll be in the tub.

Dropping a quarter into the “Ride a Fish” amusement ride outside the discount department store. Carl sits thinking about his recent fishing trip with his grandfather. The smell of cheap-boxed wine and the wispy voice of a man who has seen one too many westerns rolls like a tumbleweed through his head. It was on this past fishing trip that his grandfather told him stories about his youth, about the time he and his buddies stole a Napoleon costume and ran into the local ice cream parlor, ordered neapolitan ice cream and hit on the girl at that counter who was rumored to have syphilis. It was also on this trip that he discovered his grandfather’s love of the word “sassafras ”and that he had always wanted to be hippy, but his OCD like addiction for daily showers and good hygiene kept him from embracing a lifestyle of cannabis and tax evasion. He also learned about certain foods his grandfather can’t eat due to medical reasons and why you should always wear clean socks. It was an afternoon well spent, one of male bonding over gold bond and talk of what makes a good pair of dentures.
As the giant plastic fish slows to a stop Carl reaches into his pocket to find another quarter but feels nothing but pocket lint, a dime and something of the constancy of peanut butter. Looking on the ground for loose change he looks up to see another amusement ride that ‘s only 10 cents. Climbing into the giant plastic unicorn Carl drops the dime into the slot and as the ride beings to move back and forth to a muzak version of “ Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” he starts to reminisces about his cousin who likes to dress up in his sister’s clothing and sing show tunes.

After drinking one too many R.C. cola’s and eating a couple moonpies, I fell asleep on the couch again. When I awoke from my sugary slumber I realized the lifetime movie I was watching (Why I Wore Lipstick To My Mastectomy) was over and was succeeded by a rerun of Doogie Howser, M.D. Watching the teen doctor Journal on his 1989 Amiga CPU with one eye half open I became envious of a life where I too would sit near the window of my bedroom, wearing nothing but boxers, slouching over my keyboard and writing gossip about the nurses at the hospital. Springing into action I immediately stripped down to nature’s own, fired up the ole’ laptop and pulled up a lawn chair with no back. The only thing that I was missing was a window and a friend named Vinnie. I solved the window problem by taping together some cereal boxes and pieced together a submarine portal decorated with glitter and pipe cleaners. As for the part of my friend Vinnie he will be played by a Care bear® with a hello my name is tag. Dimming the lights to a level suited for a Kenny G concert I started to type what would become a detailed description of my dinner, my current financial situation and a funny anecdote about why nice guys finish last.
The next day at work while on a cigarette/King Dong break I was telling a buddy of mine about my new creative venture and the side effects of too much Vitamin D. He suggested I get with the times about my journaling and start a blog. After several Lycos searches of the word blog I was on my way to joining the millions of people just like me, writing stories, sharing pictures and giving away too much personal information. (I like to wear scarves in the shower) Who knows what may become of this blog, maybe future generations will use it as a window into the life of a common man, like a letter from a Civil War solider to a loved one back in West Virginia. Although I doubt I will be writing about syphilis at the front, or how Jonathan Gregg got his leg amputated at the battle of something something. I will however try to post as many random stories and drawings as possible and help fill cyberspace with more nonsense and less porn…or maybe both!
